Common Intergas Boiler Error Codes & Faults

Some boiler problems are more common than others, so we’re going to focus on those within this section. If you can’t see the code here that’s displayed on your boiler, then do check out our complete list of error codes in the table at the end of this article. If the problem is too bad to fix, we can also provide you with an online quote for a new boiler.

How to fix boiler error code 4

When you get the Intergas boiler fault code 4, it means that the printed circuit board isn’t able to recognise the presence of a flame signal.

The most likely cause of this is that the flame sensor needs to be replaced. But before you call out an engineer, do check that the gas tap is turned to the on position. If it’s been accidentally turned off, then that will be why there is no flame. No need to worry about what a new boiler cost just yet.

Now usually, when you get this error code, your Intergas boiler will go into locked mode. This is to prevent the boiler from operating when there might be safety issues. If you’re not sure how to reset the boiler, check your Intergas combi boiler manual for instructions. Not sure where the manual is? You can download a new copy here.

Other causes of an error code 4 include:

  • Faulty gas valve
  • Problem with the burner
  • A fault within the PCB

How to fix boiler error code 9

If you have an Intergas boiler error code 9, this tells you that there is an internal fault with the burner controller. Unfortunately, it’s then likely to mean that the part will need to be replaced, meaning a call out for an engineer.

If you have boiler cover, then you’ll be able to give the service centre a ring, and they’ll arrange for someone to come out and get your boiler up and running again.

How to fix boiler error code 11

The Intergas boiler error code 11 means that there is a damaged S1 sensor or that there is a circulation fault. An engineer will need to check the wiring to diagnose the fault and then replace any faulty parts.

All Intergas Boiler Error Codes

So, here’s the complete list of error codes for you. As you can see, some codes look as if they cause the same fault but do be aware the way they have become faulty can differ, and that’s where your registered gas safe engineer comes in.
