1

Client & site details

Core contact and location information needed on every quote.

Include role and whether board, landlord or FD sign-off is needed.

2

Roof assessment

Detailed roof data directly affects system size, mounting costs, structural risk and whether a site survey is essential before finalising the quote.

3

Ground mount assessment

If the roof is restricted, unsuitable or the client has available land, capture this now so you can include ground-mount as an option or alternative.

Affects foundation type — screwpile, ground anchor or concrete.

4

Energy consumption & tariffs

The most critical inputs for accurate sizing and financial modelling.

Request 12 months for accurate self-consumption modelling.

5

DNO & electrical infrastructure

Helps price cable runs, protection upgrades, meter works and any DNO-related risk or programme delays.

6

Solar irradiance data

Enter site coordinates or click “Use my location” to auto-fetch annual irradiance and monthly production estimates from the PVGIS database (EU Commission). This data feeds directly into your kWh yield assumptions.

7

EV charging assessment

EV charging is increasingly bundled with commercial solar to maximise self-consumption and reduce fleet fuel costs. Capture current fleet, infrastructure state and future plans here so it can be costed into the proposal or flagged as a phase 2 add-on.

Current fleet & vehicles on site

Overnight chargers can be slower (AC) and cheaper. Day charging suits solar pairing.

HGV / heavy vehicle charging requirements

HGV charging requires significantly larger electrical infrastructure. A single 150kW HGV charger draws as much as a small commercial building. This must be factored into DNO capacity and solar sizing.

HGV charger type interest

Determines feasible charger speed vs energy delivered per session.

Electrical capacity & load management

Cars: charger kW × quantity. HGVs: bay kW × quantity. Add both.

Battery can absorb solar generation and release at peak EV charging times.

Enter the values below to see whether the proposed solar system can meaningfully offset EV charging demand.

8

Commercial heat pump assessment

Commercial heat pumps can replace or supplement gas boilers for space heating, process heat, domestic hot water and underfloor heating. Paired with solar, they significantly increase on-site energy use and can dramatically cut gas bills and carbon emissions. Use this section to assess suitability and scope.

Current heating system

Boilers over 15 years old make a stronger case for replacement.

Below 55°C ideal for heat pump. High-temp systems may need emitter upgrades.

Emitter system assessment

Heat pumps work most efficiently at low flow temperatures. Existing high-temperature radiators or fan coil units may need upgrading or replacing to achieve good COP.

Ground source suitability (if applicable)

Affects borehole yield and drill cost significantly.

Electrical capacity for heat pump

Rough guide: 50–80W per m² for commercial buildings.
