Instead, the boiler is connected to the mains water supply, which it uses to heat your central heating and produce hot water to be stored by the cylinder.

With a system boiler, you benefit from the best aspects of combi boiler and regular boiler. You can ensure a constant supply of hot water and heating and the pressure won’t drop if you have more than one tap or shower running at the same time.

They are also easier and cheaper to install than regular boilers as they don’t require an additional tank and pipework. The only limitation with a system boiler is the size of the hot water cylinder. Once you use all of the water in the cylinder, you need to wait for it to fill back up again.
